Shake it. Sh-Sh-Shake it like a Polaroid Picture!

I have been wanting to get a new Polaroid camera for awhile now. I used to own a Polaroid but it was donated because film was becoming a rare find. It's fun shaking the picture and watching your photo magically appear.  It's enjoyable to scribble what you are feeling in the moment or narrate what has happened before it is forgotten with a good ol' Sharpie.

I have been trying to decide between a Polaroid Classic 300 Instant (RRP $89.99USD) and a Fujifilm Instax Mini 7's (RRP $89.99CAD). CAD is basically at par with the USD so it basically boils down to quality and price for exposures. The Instax film is RRP $19.99CAD for 40 exporsures whereas Polaroid Classic film is RRP $9.99USD for a pack of 10. The pricing is about the same so quality becomes the deciding factor. Polaroid is synonymous with instant photos and is know for the quality of their photos, not to mention that it is featured in lyrics from a popular Outkast song (Hey Ya). I have read a few reviews on both manufacturers and a lot of bloggers and reviewers seem to say that the vivid quality of Polaroid is better than Fujifilm.

All in all, I think either camera would be fine. I would not stress too much on the quality of the prints because I think having a Polaroid camera is just for kicks and for those cute moments you have on a coffee date with your best friend. If you wanted something with superior quality you would obviously use a digital camera and the geniuses at Polaroid have developed an instant digital camera, PoGo which I will cover in a later post.
