Word of the day: snigger

This cracked me up. Why have a synonym so close sounding and with a difference of 2 letters?

snigger	(verb) Laugh quietly.
Synonyms:	snicker
Usage:	The rude tourists snigger at the locals' outdated ways and dress.

Victoria's Secret Bikinis

I am SO fricken excited to be getting out of the country in a week! This is what is getting me past the stress of work, assignments and midterms this week! I am a light sleeper but the past 2 nights I have been dozing off while sitting upright at my desk.

Hopefully my Victoria's Secret bikinis come in on time! It's kind of incongruous to have snowflakes falling on the same page as ladies in bikinis, but oh well!

Of course all of the ones I wanted were out of stock or do not go on sale until March but I found some mix and match parts that I liked.



Bandeaus: $24USD (left) vs. $38USD (right)

I purchased the plain white bandeau top and will probably go to Value Village or Ardenes to buy a cheap yet cute broach to spruce the bandeau up. This way, I can wear the bandeau plainly or add different gems onto it. I also bought the matching white bottoms so that I can use them with the Ombre printed bandeau pictured below because I dislike the matching bottoms.

Cliche: Don't live life with regrets.

Today, I have come to realize that I do not dwell on things. This can be a good and a bad thing. I do hold grudges in extreme situations but usually, I let things go easily...very easily.

Michelle Williams: Black, White and Lace

Congrats to Michelle as she is up for Best Actress for Blue Valentine! She has a beautiful and flawless face to utilize in the art of acting and has fast become one of my fashion darlings alongside Kate Moss, Sienna Miller (darn, they're all blonde) and others.

 

I know a lot of people are huge fans of Rachel Bilson as a style icon, but I have always found her to be a boring dresser.

James McAvoy on Gnomeo and Juliet

I am really excited for Gnomeo and Juliet to come out next week on February 11th! This movie is from the makers of Shrek and takes a creative spin on a Shakespearean classic.



James McAvoy stars as Gnomeo and I have come to adore him after Atonement. It seems like he has a good personality to pair with his acting chops and delivers some chuckle worthy insights to the National Post:

"Noises like: “Ooof! Argh! Oooo! Ah!” All done to the accompaniment of panting sounds.

New Eyelining Technique

How do you line your eyes?

Sorry my face is at a weird angle, but it was the only way I could show how large my eyes look. I lined my eyes with my new favourite technique and used a light sand underneath my lower lash line to make my eyes look larger.

I continually change makeup techniques and usually pick up good advice from my girlfriends. Eyeliner is a must for any look and eyelining is one of the most fundamental skills any girl should have! I am not a fan of expensive products as a student so I think the technique of sealing your makeup is the most important step to keep it from sliding off your face.
